Working with BMD since its inception, Ken Bird was initially our external accountant. In 1992, he was invited to become a Non-Executive Director, and subsequently joined the organisation as an Executive Director in 1995. After 13 years in this position Ken retired in June 2008, still maintaining his role as Non-Executive Director. Prior to his retirement Ken was responsible for BMD's corporate taxation and financial management requirements. He has played a pivotal role in providing a solid financial structure for BMD that has seen it grow from a small local organisation to a large national entity.
