BMD Northcliffe

In the last 100 years, Australian Surf Life Savers have rescued more than 500,000 people and provided first aid to a million others. BMD is proud to be associated with this worthy cause - one that epitomises the very best of Australian culture.

BMD is the official naming rights sponsor of the Club, now named the BMD Northcliffe Surf Club. This is the first partnership of its kind in Australia between a surf club and a corporate sponsor, which has further strengthened our well established and long term partnership.

In recent times, BMD Northcliffe has been one of the most dominant Surf Life Saving Clubs in Australia, boasting an expanding membership base, world and national championships, an enthusiastic Nipper program, significant involvement in community activities and contributing everyday of the week to the preservation of human life on the beaches of the Gold Coast.

BMD Northcliffe Surf Club has won 14 of the last 16 Australian Champion Club titles, most recently in 2010, and was also awarded the World Champion Club title in 2008.

Our Group Board Chairman and Managing Director, Mick Power, AM, is also a Board Member on the Northcliffe Foundation and also the Queensland Surf Lifesaving Foundation.
