Oxfam Trailwalker

13 April 2011 - The first Oxfam Trailwalker in Brisbane will be held 17-19 June 2011 in D'Aguilar National Park and is expected to be the most challenging Trailwalker event in Australia.

The BMD Group have four teams - aptly named BMD IT, Trekking BMD Style, Team BMD and There's Always a Way taking part in the challenge. Each team member must complete the entire 100km course and cross the finish line together.

"We have 48 hours to walk the 100km trail and it's very likely that we'll walk through the night with little or no sleep until the end," Scott Power, Group Executive Director - Operations said.

"Our objective is to get all of our teams across the finish line without injury or tears."

The BMD employees were inspired by BMD Group Chairman & Managing Director, Mick Power AM and colleagues who went to Papua New Guinea to tackle the challenging 96km Kokoda Track in 2009.

"This year we are proud to be walking and fundraising for Oxfam - an independent, secular, non-government organisation working in more than 28 countries including Indigenous Australia."
