Transcity JV still in the running for Northern Link
14 July 2010
Transcity JV, a joint venture partnership between BMD Constructions, Acciona and Ghella is still a major contender for the $1.8 billion Northern Link project.
Brisbane City Council recently announced it had set aside one of the consortia bidding to design, build and operate the 5km tunnel, reducing the tender shortlist to just two competing bidders.
Transcity JV will join Northern Direct, consisting of Bouygues, Laing O'Rourke and Transfield Services, in the final stage of the bidding process. The successful proponent is scheduled to be announced in September 2010 with construction expected to commence at the end of the year.
The 5km tunnel will connect the Centenary Motorway at Toowong and the Inner-City Bypass at Kelvin Grove.
