BMD take home an Engineers Australia Award in Victoria

BMD Constructions’ Port Capacity Project – Roads and Services package has won the Project Infrastructure category at the recent Engineers Australia’s 2016 Australian Engineering Excellence Awards held on Tuesday 4 October.

BMD Constructions together with JMac constructions delivered backbone infrastructure including roads, utilities and buffer zones. The Port Capacity Project – Roads and Services package has delivered key project infrastructure for the Port of Melbourne which has enabled the Port’s terminal operators to develop new facilities, which includes a new container terminal, an expanded auto terminal and a dedicated ‘on-port’ pre-delivery inspection hub.

The competition was high with the project up against the Jim Stynes Bridge, Papa, Uniform and Golf Taxilane Slab Replacement, Burke Road Level Crossing Removal Project, Essendon to Tottenham Water Main Renewal (M102), Roadside Tolling System for the Eastern Distribution Tolling System Replacement, and the Rail Systems and Power Commissioning at the Burke Road Level Crossing.

The Engineering Excellence Awards recognise and reward the outstanding achievements in the practice of engineering and service to the profession. BMD is proud to be recognised for our contribution to the development of Victoria which is a testament to the outstanding calibre of our employees and projects.

The project is now eligible to enter the national awards which will be held in November.
