Spotlight on BMD at the Civil Contractors Federation Queensland Gala Awards night

BMD stole the spotlight at the Civil Contractors Federation Queensland Branch Gala Awards, last Friday, winning an outstanding four awards in total.

This prestigious awards night combines the Industry Training Awards, and the Queensland Earth Awards, honouring the outstanding achievements in the civil construction industry.

In the Training Awards, BMD was recognised for our commitment to training, taking home the Outstanding Commitment to Training and Skill Development (Employer) category, the Certificate IV Trainee of the Year (awarded to Jamie Tuttiett) and the CSQ Encouragement Award (awarded to Jack Kavanagh).

Legacy Way, constructed by the Transcity Joint Venture comprising BMD Constructions, Acciona Infrastructure and Ghella took out the prestigious Earth Award for a project valued over $75 million, recognising the project’s outstanding work in innovation and construction, and environmental excellence.

This award adds to the Transcity Joint Venture’s many accolades and awards achieved during the construction of the 4.6 kilometre tunnel. The completed project has achieved its objective of reducing congestion by connecting the Western Freeway at Toowong with the Inner City Bypass at Kelvin Grove, and exceeded design, construction and delivery expectations.
