BMD Constructions and Roads and Maritime Services team up in new safety initiative

BMD Constructions has reinforced their strong commitment to Zero Harm by hosting an industry-leading, safety hazard identification initiative with Roads and Maritime Services as part of the Bringelly Road Upgrade – Stage 1 project.

The initiative saw Roads and Maritime Services personnel and BMD senior management come together to share learnings and insights around safety risks and hazard identification on construction sites.

The day helped to highlight the possible safety issues faced by those working on site and how best to implement preventative strategies during the planning and design phases of projects, ahead of the start of site-based construction.

During the day, Roads and Maritime staff worked with BMD to highlight the importance of identifying hazards as early as possible and the role that safety leadership has at all levels of the business.

BMD Constructions General Manager – NSW/ACT, Craig Smith said, “The results from the day demonstrate BMD’s continued, unwavering commitment to Zero Harm by sharing our knowledge and expertise to improve industry standards.”

BMD continues to invest in the safety of their people through training opportunities, regular audits, analysis of trends and the adoption of preventative strategies.

Stage 1 of the Bringelly Road Upgrade project, which started in January this year has developed a strong safety culture and received praise for fostering and celebrating BMD’s commitment to Zero Harm.

The project remains on track for completion in 2017.
