BMD Northcliffe Defends World Crown

BMD Northcliffe has defended their world crown with a dominant performance at Rescue 2014 in France.

Competition started in the pool where the club was awarded three silver and two bronze medals in the 200 metre Obstacles and the Medley Relays.

Next was the Ocean Events where Courtney Hancock played an impressive part in picking up maximum points in the Women’s Surf Race. BMD Northcliffe claimed the top four positions, with Courtney coming in second. The Women’s Board Rescue saw Courtney in third place on the last day of the competition.

Six time Australian Open Ironman, Shannon Eckstein was awarded gold in the Male Board Race and a silver medal for the Men’s Surf Race. Shannon defended his Ironman crown in the Men’s Board Rescue, taking home the gold. To top off a great few days, the club also took out both the Male and Female Taplin Relays.

BMD is the official naming rights sponsor of BMD Northcliffe Surf Club. This is the first partnership of its kind in Australia between a surf club and a corporate sponsor, which has further strengthened our well established and long term partnership.
