BMD Urban installs Buddha on Sellicks Hill, SA

The BMD Urban South Australian team continues to demonstrate their diverse capabilities on interesting projects including the Nan Hai Pu Tuo Temple in Sellicks Hill.

The project saw the construction of an 18 metre tall granite Buddha which BMD assembled after the structure arrived from China in 96 pieces in 23 shipping containers.

After reinforcing the statue with 80 cubic metres of concrete and 10 tonne of reinforced steel, it is estimated to weigh around 900 tonnes.

The Buddha has already become an icon in the area, visible from Sellicks Beach.
