BMD Constructing Better Roads for NSW

On 30 July 2014, Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Treasurer Joe Hockey and Premier of NSW Mike Baird turned the first sod on the Narellan Road Upgrade project, a key upgrade for the South West Growth Centre which will reduce congestion and improve safety for all road users, including toSydney’s future second airport at Badgery’s Creek.

The Commonwealth and NSW Governments are delivering on their commitment to upgrade Narellan Road to six lanes from Camden Valley Way at Narellan to Blaxland Road at Campbelltown with stage one work expected to be completed by 2015.

BMD Constructions has been awarded the contract for stage one work which involves installing new traffic lights, shared pedestrian / cyclist paths, widening approximately 1.6 kilometres ofNarellan Roadfrom the Hume Motorway to just west ofBlaxland Roadat Campbelltown and upgrading the Hume Motorway southbound off-ramps.

The project aims to reduce congestion for motorists accessing the University of Western Sydney / TAFE, generate jobs, have positive flow on effects for the community and reduce travel times for all road users.
