BMD Constructions Awarded Civil Contract for the Reclamation Phase of the New Parallel Runway at Brisbane Airport

BMD Constructions have been awarded the $30 million contract to construct the civil works for dredging company ‘Jan De Nul’ who are undertaking the reclamation project for the New Parallel Runway for Brisbane Airport Corporation.

The award continues BMD’s association with the project and follows BMD’s successful recent completion of the $60 million Early Works project which involved the preparation of the site for Brisbane Airport Corporation. The Early Works project involved large scale clearing, construction of drainage channels, access roads, existing runway modifications and dredge enveloper pipes.

This latest project requires the construction of a nine kilometre long engineered reclamation bund, modifications to site drainage, and demolition works.

This award continues BMD’s long association with Brisbane Airport Corporation after undertaking multiple projects over the past 12 years, both airside and landside and builds on the strong relationship fostered over that time.
