BMD continue commitment to a culture of Zero Harm

BMD Urban and JMac Constructions recently held our annual Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) training day at the Southern Sports Field project in Springfield. The south-east Queensland team reinforced our commitment to safety, with almost 350 staff in attendance, including representatives from Empower Engineers & Project Managers, BMD Constructions and Urbex.

The training day focused on five key areas including confined spaces, internal vehicle movements, environmental practices, use of quick cut and plant and machinery roll over.

The team were joined by two guest speakers, Paul Spinks, an Advanced Care Paramedic and State Counsellor for the Australian Paramedic Association and Jed Millen, a Workplace Health and Safety Queensland Training Advocate. With decades of hands on experience, both presenters used their story to encourage a more positive safety culture within our workforce and encouraged the team to challenge unsafe behaviours in others by leading by example.

Thank you to the many people who made the day possible and all those who attended. The high participation rate throughout the day illustrates our employees commitment to our Zero Harm goal and that they recognise the importance of looking after themselves and their workmates.
