BMD employees recognised for outstanding contribution to the construction industry

On Friday 13 November, a number of BMD staff were recognised for excelling in their fields of work.

The Civil Contractors Federation’s (CCF) NSW President’s Gala Ball and Awards Dinner was held to celebrate people from the New South Wales’ civil contracting industry.

BMD is proud to advise that the following employees were awarded individual awards:

• Project Manager of the Year – Daniel Everett
• Supervisor of the Year – John Wallwalk
• Safety Champion of the Year – Mitchell Coustley
• Administration Support of the Year – Michelle Charon
• Site Hand of the Year (Leading Hand/Sub Foreman) – Peter Wheeldon

Congratulations must also go to Gary Whyte who was shortlisted as a finalist in the very competitive Safety Coordinator of the Year category.

The 2015 Construction Skills Queensland Excellence Awards were also held on Friday to celebrate the training and skilling achievements and recognise the important part they play in the future of Queensland’s construction industry.

Jason Zoller, Regional Construction Manager was awarded the Civil Contractors Federation Award for Construction Professional of the Year for his role in advocating training excellence within BMD.

Quinten Bandry, Labourer on the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village project was a finalist in the Davidson Award for Constructions Indigenous Person of the Year at the same awards.

BMD is extremely proud of the contribution of our people and believe that this strong result demonstrates the important part our people play in the advancement of Australia’s contracting industry.
