BMD signs landmark agreement with Engineers Australia to upskill the largest single intake of private sector engineers

Privately owned major Australian infrastructure company, the BMD Group has signed a landmark agreement with Engineers Australia, which will see the largest single intake ever for chartered professional engineers in the private sector.

BMD Group’s National General Manager of Strategy, Colin Mitchell said the program will provide BMD’s engineers with relevant professional accreditations and recognition to achieve career progression.

Engineers Australia’s Executive General Manager of Professional Standards and Practice, Ron Watts said this systematic professional development program is vital to expanding knowledge, maintaining up-to-date technical skills and progressing careers.

“Achieving the Chartered Credential is the pinnacle of independent practice and indicates the engineers that are capable and dependable leaders.

“It is globally recognised and will provide benefits to all levels of engineers at BMD, from graduates through to senior executives, and also includes engineering technologists and associates,” Ron Watts said.

“As the Deputy President of Engineers Australia – Queensland Division, I have witnessed first-hand the benefits of these accreditations and am excited for the recognition and opportunities they will provide to our engineering team,” Colin Mitchell said.
