Clean sweep at Northern Territory CCF Awards

On Friday 22 June, three BMD employees were recognised for their outstanding efforts and achievements in the construction industry at the Northern Territory (NT) Civil Construction Federation Training Awards.

Trainee Safety Advisor Dirk Dunser was awarded the NT Mature Age Achiever award and after six years in the civil construction industry, has recently stepped into a safety role at BMD where he has had a noticeable and positive impact on the NT team’s outlook to safety and commitment to achieving BMD’s Zero Harm goal.

Labourer Kass Lehmann was named First Year Apprentice of the Year. Kass has been recognised by BMD’s management team as someone who exemplifies BMD’s values and assists in the development of other employees onsite by setting a positive example in relation to quality, safety and environmental commitment.

Leading Hand Greg Sargeant was awarded the Rae Snodgrass Apprentice of the Year award and believes the skills he learnt through the completion of his Certificate III have contributed to his confidence and skill levels. Greg has progressed from a Labourer to Leading Hand in a very short time frame, illustrating his knowledge of the industry and ability to lead.

The annual CCF NT Training Awards recognise the success of the next generation of contractors undertaking vocational or tertiary education, apprenticeships in the civil construction industry, and employers dedicated to providing skills, knowledge and safe working environments to their workforce.

BMD is proud of our employees’ achievements and the contributions they make in the advancement of Australia’s contracting industry.
