Flying for kids with cystic fibrosis

BMD proudly contributed $5,000 to Boral employee Matthias Fuchs to support his journey to raise funds for the cystic fibrosis clinic at the Children’s Hospital in Westmead, Sydney. The funds will help the hospital continue their important research into the treatment efficiency of cystic fibrosis.

Matthias has recently completed a 12 day challenge which saw him visit every continent except Antarctica, flying with Qantas for almost 200 hours over 160,000 kilometres.

Matthias began the challenge with the aim of beating his 2013 effort which saw him travel for 10 days, covering 140,000 kilometres and raising $140,000 for children with cystic fibrosis.

Matthias was successful in his goal, raising over $208,000 on his recent trip. Every dollar will go straight to the Westmead Children’s Hospital, improving the children’s care and quality of life.

From everyone at BMD, congratulations and welcome home Matthias!
