Mick Power AM Featured in The CEO Magazine

BMD Group’s Founder and Managing Director, Mick Power AM recently featured in The CEO Magazine. The article features Mick discussing the company’s growth, family culture and its commitment to community.

Over 34 years ago, the BMD Group started as a small family business and has managed to grow beyond its genesis to become one of Australia’s largest privately owned construction, consulting and urban development organisations.

Boasting a portfolio of projects ranging from $100,000 to over $1 billion and consistently doubling its turnover every three years, BMD attributes this success to its ability to maintain a family culture which is still evident today amongst its 1,700 employees.

“A strong family orientated culture has led the company to have over 55 people with more than 20 years of service and a very low turnover of staff which has always remained that way” comments Mick.

In addition to a strong family culture, Mick is proud of the unique business relationships he has fostered over the years.

“[Our suppliers] don’t have anybody who has that same absolute loyalty and obviously I feel that some significant competitive advantages have come out of that” he said.

With a ranking of 36 in BRW’s Top 500 Private Companies list, the BMD Group has come a long way since opening a small office in Queensland.
