BMD Industrial awarded Ravenshoe Sewerage Treatment Plant project

BMD Industrial has been awarded the $4.2 million Ravenshoe Sewerage Treatment Plant project for client, Tablelands Regional Council.

The project involves upgrading the existing sewerage treatment plant to comply with the negotiated draft licence, specifically effluent quality and hydraulic flows, as well as future proof the infrastructure for the growing region.

BMD Industrial’s scope of works involves the design and construction of the upgraded sewerage treatment plant to a capacity of 1300 equivalent persons.

BMD Industrial will manage construction of concrete structures, an access road and underground pipework while the existing plant remains in operation. The team will also manage installation, testing and commissioning of various mechanical and electrical items as well as manage process commissioning of the new plant and complete a four week performance test. The scope of works also involves demolition of obsolete items and structures.

The award of this project builds on BMD Industrial’s strong water and wastewater capability which was recently illustrated through the successful upgrade of eleven sewerage treatment plants in Tasmania.

The Ravenshoe Sewerage Treatment Plant project is expected to start onsite in March and will be completed late 2017.
