Princes Highway West Completes Project Milestone

BMD Constructions is currently working on the Princes Highway (West) project between Waurn Ponds and Winchelsea to duplicate and reconstruct 23 kilometres of roadway along with a new bridge over the Geelong-Warrnambool rail line.

Last Tuesday 13 May 2014 signified a notable project milestone as the 332m³ concrete deck pour for the bridge was completed.

Effective communication with stakeholders and collaboration with suppliers and sub-contractors saw additional plant, equipment and personnel dedicated to the deck pour.

Technical compliance leading up to the pour, management of the concrete placement time requirements and keeping a detailed pour record were critical for what was a seamless delivery.
