Outcomes

BMD approached the management of the project with a determination to achieve the client’s time and budget objectives. The project was constructed over a three-year period and was unique in its delivery due to the program being broken into nine separable portions which were established by the client. It was essential that the project couldn’t delay due to a set date for the Commonwealth Games and when the athletes would arrive to the village. Over the construction period, the project recorded 4062 millimetres of rainfall. Although BMD has allowed for wet weather events, this was above average for the region. Where BMD was delayed, the project team produced an acceleration plan to find efficiencies in the program, and procured additional resources to achieve completion in the compressed timeframe. As a result, BMD either achieved the target dates or bettered the date, delivering the opportunity for building contractors to complete their works on time.
