Outcomes

The risk management levels for noise and vibration were upgraded from low to medium once BMD were awarded the project, which required new management plans to be developed, and pre-construction monitoring to be undertaken. BMD’s project team worked collaboratively with the client and Queensland Rail to implement additional control measures and ensure they were up to standard.

Once onsite, the project team encountered unforeseen challenges including the presence of asbestos, a number of unknown services, and a significant landscaping and footpath redesign around established trees in the area. These additional works were undertaken with minimal disruption to the overall schedule of the project because of BMD’s extensive experience and highly skilled project team.
