Scope

The scope of work included:

  • demolition of existing netball courts, light towers, fencing and furniture
  • over 9000m3 of bulk earthworks
  • construction of 13 new asphalt netball courts with acrylic surfacing
  • construction of 16 shelters
  • construction of ramp and stair access points
  • construction of a retaining wall
  • installation of over 1000 metres of drainage
  • installation of 20 lighting towers
  • installation of a PA system
  • installation of over 300 metres of high black chainmesh fencing
  • installation of three drinking fountains.

Outcomes

JMac offered Frankston City Council an alternative solution to the layout and method of power supply to the courts, eliminating 60% of the nominated underground boring. This offered the client cost savings and sped up the electrical supply in the construction program, ultimately allowing JMac to successfully deliver the project in time for the winter netball season.
