Scope

The scope of work included:

  • clearing and demolition works
  • earthworks involving cut and fill
  • relocation of land fill waste
  • construction and installation of 10 tennis courts and two interchangeable sport courts
  • construction of 8000m2, 150 millimetre thick suspended concrete slab
  • installation of 540 steel, concrete filled driven piles
  • installation of gabion retaining wall
  • installation of all stormwater, water and electrical services
  • installation of 12 light poles and switchboard
  • installation court ancillary items including fencing, netting, asphalt, plexipave, line marking, shade shelters, and drinking fountains.

Outcomes

During construction, the team placed a heavy focus on the environmental aspects of the project, as the construction site was located on top of a redundant landfill site. The complex earthworks on contaminated land were performed with no noise, dust, or water contaminants leaving the site or affecting workers or the public.
