Scope
The scope of work included:
- construction and installation of 8 kilometres of water supply main
- construction and installation of 4.5 kilometres of rising sewer main
- construction of a sewer pump station
- installation of 1 kilometre of 1800 millimetre diameter stormwater outfall drainage
- 250,000m3 of bulk earthworks
- construction of 27,000m3 of pavement
- construction of 159 house lots and two beaches
- 1.5 kilometres of HV electrical supply
- 330,000 tonnes of breakwater construction
- 100,000m3 of dredging, foreshore protection and beach construction.
Outcomes
Through progressive discussions with the client, BMD was able to alter the project’s scope of works to improve outcomes for the community. The altered scope provided an additional hectare of public space, created a recreation area to allow construction of future tennis courts and playgrounds, and facilitated construction of two large beaches.
