Chris joined BMD as Legal Counsel in 2014 and was appointed to General Counsel in 2019. Prior to his employment at BMD, Chris strengthened his commercial litigation expertise at one of Australia’s top-tier law firms delivering outcomes in relation to intellectual property litigation, insolvency and banking and financial industry disputes.

Chris works across all parts of BMD’s business to manage legal requirements, risks and disputes. At a strategic level he works with the company’s Directors and Senior Management, as well as with BMD’s project and administrative staff to manage legal issues throughout the project lifecycle.

By collaborating with BMD’s management, administrative and project teams, Chris positions BMD for success in all aspects of the business. Chris strives to empower all of BMD’s staff to protect and enhance BMD’s position through all levels of the company’s legal requirements.

On a personal level, Chris enjoys giving back to the community as demonstrated in his longstanding relationship with community legal clinics where he has volunteered as a solicitor since 2011. Currently, Chris volunteers at Brisbane’s Bayside Community Legal Centre. He is also heavily involved in grassroots sports development, including holding member positions on the Football Queensland and Football Brisbane disciplinary committees.
