Yan Yean Road Upgrade underway

Last Friday, The Victorian Governments Minister for Roads, Luke Donnellan and Member for Yan Yean, Danielle Green joined VicRoads Project Director, Metropolitan Projects Western, Damien Afxentis, and BMD Constructions General Manager Paul Dall’Oglio to mark the start of works on the Yan Yean Road Upgrade in Melbourne’s outer northern suburbs.

The project will see BMD upgrade Yan Yean Road from two to four lanes between Diamond Creek and Kurrak roads in Plenty, and upgrade four key intersections at River Avenue, Kurrak Road, Memorial Drive and Diamond Creek Road.

During the tender phase, BMD developed an innovative design solution to mitigate impacts to significant services located within the project alignment, and reduce impacts to vegetation.

Upon completion, the upgrade will minimise traffic congestion and improve safety by reducing the risk of head-on collisions and off-road crashes.
