BMD continue to deliver exceptional outcomes at Australia’s largest RAAF Base

BMD Constructions continue to build on our growing experience in the defence and airfield sectors with the award of the C-17 Aircraft Apron project at the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Amberley, west of Brisbane.

BMD’s scope of works is for the construction of aircraft pavements to support the expanding C-17 Globemaster aircraft fleet at the RAAF’s largest base in Australia.

The award by managing contractor, CPB Contractors, brings BMD’s total work at the RAAF Base Amberley to in excess of $100 million, which is in addition to our significant aircraft apron work being undertaken concurrently at the Brisbane Airport.

This volume of airfield work illustrates BMD’s experience, depth of resources, and reputation in the industry of delivering high quality heavy pavements within highly complex operational environments.

With vast experience delivering defence projects, our teams of trained and highly qualified professionals with specialist experience in all aspects of defence will be quickly deployed to commence works in the coming weeks, with construction anticipated to be completed in 12 months.

BMD is proud to continue to make an important contribution to the security of Australia, utilising our collaborative contracting model to ensure we minimise the impacts of construction on the ongoing operations of the sites we work within.
