BMD employees recognised at Civil Contractors Federation New South Wales People Awards

In our 40^th year of operations, we are proud to say that our founding philosophies are still as evident today as they were four decades ago. At the recent Civil Contractors Federation New South Wales President’s Gala Awards, “The People Awards”, we were thrilled to have nine finalists for 10 awards across our New South Wales business, epitomising that our business is still our people.

Our employees took out both safety categories on the evening, which marks three consecutive years that BMD has won an award for our commitment to Zero Harm. BMD Constructions’ Safety Manager, James took home the Safety Champion: Safety Officer award for his unwavering commitment to Zero Harm and the emotional investment he makes in the people that work on his project sites. James continues to reinvent and invigorate his approach to safety to provide the projects he oversees with educational and memorable training which resonates.

BMD Constructions’ Labourer Josh was awarded two awards on the evening, Safety Champion: Individual and Aboriginal Employee of the Year. Josh’s contribution to safety goes above and beyond his role through participation in multiple safety initiatives, playing a key role in building safety resilience by focussing on engagement and trust. Josh has also been instrumental in his commitment to increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement, working closely with three Indigenous trainees to provide a whole of life perspective to project construction for the young men.

BMD Constructions’ Senior Project Engineer, Adeesha won Engineer of the Year for his collaborative and detail-orientated approach to managing complex relationships and achieving successful outcomes for BMD. Adeesha is a knowledgeable and approachable member of his project teams, which makes him an invaluable asset.

BMD Constructions’ Senior Project Manager, Mark won Project Manager of the Year for his ability to encourage independent problem solving as well as his commitment to empowering his project teams. Mark’s impeccable leadership skills ensures the BMD Constructions team can continually deliver outstanding and innovative projects.
