BMD secures two contracts at RAAF Base Tindal
BMD Constructions has been awarded an additional two contracts at RAAF Base Tindal in the Northern Territory, bringing our current work in hand at the base to more than $500 million.
Having mobilised to Tindal in September 2021, BMD has been successfully collaborating with Lendlease and the Australian Defence Force to deliver the apron and taxiway facilities for the KC-30A multi-role tanker fleet at the base.
The two additional contracts are testament to the strong outcomes being delivered on the base, with the scope including a major upgrade of the main runway, reconstruction of the parallel taxiway, and the construction of facilities for the new triton remotely piloted drone fleet.
Supporting a major boost for the Australian Defence Force, the projects will provide upgraded runway capacity at the base, enhanced long range surveillance capabilities, and the ability to provide air-to-air refuelling capacity out of Northern Australia.
Leveraging the power of our experienced aviation and defence sector personnel, BMD is proud to continue our long and successful history of delivering complex major infrastructure for the Australian Defence Force.
