BMD Urban successfully delivers Brighton Lakes

BMD Urban has successfully delivered stages 3 and 4 of the Brighton Lakes Project, a Mirvac community including Mirvac Ready Homes and the new Brighton Lakes Recreation and Golf Club, which comprises a 300+ lot masterplanned community titled residential estate located in Moorebank

The development involves part of the existing golf course being developed into residential lots, 7 new golf holes being constructed, the demolition and construction of a new clubhouse facility which has since been rebranded and re-opened as Brighton Lakes Recreational and Golf Club.

BMD Urban focused on staging the subdivision works to allow for the full operation of the golf course and existing clubhouse during construction, and early access to completed lots for the home builders to maintain continuity of work. This was highly valued by the client given the high demand in the area, with 50% of the lots having commenced building construction upon BMD Urban’s practical completion date.

BMD Urban remained committed to the preservation of the environment throughout the project and ensuring the project’s footprint had minimal impact on the local community. The project scope required a high amount of environmental works including the rehabilitation and improvement of an existing network of dams involving stabilising and raising embankments, constructing stabilised spillways, as well as extensive planting and landscaping.

The environmental works were completed without any reportable incidents due to the project team’s commitment to frequent monitoring of sediment controls, the use of watercarts to control dust, the use of street sweepers to keep surrounding roads clean, and through careful planning of the dam works including progressive stabilisation of batters.

Working within an environment that had a number of contractors and trades working concurrently, and to an accelerated program, meant that occupational health and safety risks were significantly higher. The project team remained committed to safety ensuring it remained front of mind by instilling a positive site culture, resulting in BMD’s goal of Zero Harm achieved on the project.

As the largest urban development contractor in Australia with a national footprint, the successful delivery of this project reaffirms BMD Urban’s capacity to deliver best for project outcomes for developers across the country.
