The iconic Anzac Centenary Memorial Walk acknowledged for construction excellence

BMD’s Anzac Centenary Memorial Walk project was awarded a Civil Contractors Federation South Australia Category 3 (project value $5 million to $10 million) Earth Award over the weekend.

The $10 million project was South Australia’s flagship project to commemorate the centenary of Anzac, with the walk physically and symbolically linking the state’s principal site of remembrance, the South Australian national war memorial on North Terrace, with Torrens Parade ground and the pathway of honour.

The project team worked seamlessly together to overcome many challenges of the high profile project within the Adelaide city centre, including additional scope to an already extremely tight program, working in the public realm, working long hours and weekends, as well as technical design challenges and the large number of existing services within the constrained site.

BMD is proud of this outstanding achievement which recognises the enormous efforts of the entire project team in going above and beyond to deliver for the client. The project will now progress to the CCF National Earth Awards in November this year.
