Outcomes

Through a value management process, BMD Urban saved over $800,000 and completed the project lost time injury free.

Minimising potential inconvenience to local business, adjoining property and the public was one of BMD Urban’s primary concerns. Work was scheduled by BMD Urban to ensure construction impacts were minimised for local retailers, beachgoers and stakeholders. The project was successfully programmed and completed in the winter months to ensure it was opened prior to the busy summer trading period.

BMD Urban were extremely cautious of the proximity of the site to the ocean and during construction successfully ensured there were no environmental incidents. This led to BMD Urban winning the 2016 Civil Contractors Federation SA Earth Award for Excellence in Civil Construction – Category 3.
