The METRONET Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal project will see the Armadale Line Upgrade Alliance (ALUA comprising Acciona, BMD Constructions, WSP and AECOM) work to remove level crossings along the Armadale Line, located in the south-eastern suburbs of Perth.

As Perth’s first major elevated rail line, the project will see six level crossings across the Armadale Line replaced with elevated rail and stations to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety for travellers, and provide new publicly accessible spaces. Ultimately, the project will deliver a safer, more accessible, and connected community within Perth’s south-eastern suburbs.

The METRONET Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal project includes:

  • the replacement of six level crossings at Mint/Archer Street, Oats Street, Welshpool Road, Hamilton Street, Wharf Street and William Street
  • installation of 4 kilometres of elevated rail
  • construction of five new elevated stations at Carlisle, Oats Street, Queens Park, Cannington and Beckenham
  • conversion of approximately six hectares of rail corridor into versatile public space and improved community connections through elevated rail.
