Set over 1000 hectares, North Shore is a master planned development just 15 minutes north of the Townsville CBD. With a staged roll out planned to take place over a 15 year period, the development will eventually be home to 15,000 families. JMac Constructions (JMac) has been working continuously on the North Shore development since the first stage in 2008. In this time, JMac has constructed multiple entry statements, playgrounds, sports facilities and open green spaces.

JMac have worked with us and our architect on many occasions to provide alternatives which have resulted in greater value for money outcomes. The strong longstanding relationship between Stocklands and JMac continues to grow at North Shore… JMac are available at short notice for rectifications or any extras that may be involved in our efforts to market the project or for when official functions are being held at North Shore.

Scope

The ongoing works for the North Shore development includes

construction of streetscapes for residential stages, dual carriage arterial roads and the commercial precinct
construction of entry statements and shade structures
construction of common area hardscapes including concrete pavements, paving, feature planting and structures
construction of parklands including footbridges, picnic settings and play equipment
– construction of sporting facilities including tennis courts, an AFL oval and outdoor Cross Fit facility
construction of wetlands including bio retention basins
long-term maintenance including mowing and edging, proactive pest and weed control, revegetation, electrical lighting and irrigation systems repairs and rectification works.

Outcomes

Due to a high quality result on the first stage, JMac has since been engaged as the main contractor for the remainder of the landscaping contracts.

JMac continues to work closely with the client and designers to successfully achieve multiple public open dates and coordinate community tree planting events.
