Outcomes

BMD Constructions worked collaboratively with the client and adjacent contractors to progressively hand over works as each individual silo reached completion, allowing for early access to each of the areas for the successive packages of works. Through this initiative, as well as the acceleration of preliminary activities, BMD Constructions reached practical completion three months ahead of schedule.

The tight project footprint and shared site posed challenges for the team throughout works, which was managed through collaborative workshops and agreed controls as part of a Safe Work Access Plan. The team were also committed to safety excellence and implemented sign on points at each individual work front. These points required all employees to contact the area owner before entering to ensure all specific risks and controls for the area were understood. This approach to safety resulted in the project being delivered with no lost time injuries.
