It has been a significant year for BMD where we recorded strong financial results, repositioned ourselves in the residential market and delivered large infrastructure projects.
Beyond our projects, we embarked on a journey toward a high performing efficient business, strengthened our safety culture and in turn delivered greater certainty for our clients.
Transcity was internationally acknowledged as the winner of the 2013 Major Tunnelling Project of the Year award in the $500 million and over category in London. BMD Constructions is on schedule for 2015 and tunneling is complete with tunnel boring machines, Annabell and Joyce achieving outstanding levels of production.
BMD Constructions was awarded an additional $125 million in contract scope as a result of project performance, safety initiatives, management and achieving in excess of 650,000 hours LTI free.
STRONG FOCUS ON AIRSIDE ENVIRONMENTAL OUTCOMES
BMD Constructions completed the New Parallel Runway – Civil Works Package project on time, ahead of budget and achieved a number of important environmental outcomes. Water quality was monitored daily and erosions and sediment controls were adapted for the tidal environment for the project.
BMD CONSTRUCTIONS DELIVERS PROJECT WITHIN TIGHT TIMEFRAME
With a condensed time frame, BMD Industrial delivered the contract for the supply and installation of site wide utilities services on the Caval Ridge project. Multiple disciplines were successfully managed across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and communications over a 180 square kilometre site.
JMAC’S LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP WITH IPSWICH CITY COUNCIL SAW THE AWARD OF LAGOON POOLS PROJECT
Following on from the successful completion of Robelle Domain Parklands, JMac Constructions was awarded Stage 2 of the project, involving a Southbank-style lagoon swimming pool.
BMD AWARDED THE ROADS AND SERVICES CONTRACT AT PORT OF MELBOURNE
BMD has been awarded the Roads and Services contract as part of the $1.6 billion project, broadening our port and marine experience. Winning the contract is a major achievement for BMD and a boost to business in the Southern Region.
JOHNSTON RIDGE THREE YEARS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
The final stage, Stage 3 of Johnston Ridge in Palmerston, Northern Territory has been released to market for sale, signifying the completion of this phase of the development a staggering three years ahead of schedule. The completed development will contain 284 residential lots ranging from 607m² to more than 1,300m² located within five minutes of schools and amenities.
DELIVERING INNOVATION WITH A CLIENT FOCUS
BMD succussfully collaborated with the designers and client, drawing on vast civil construction experience and knowledge to overcome difficult design and construction issues. The urban development will comprise of a 68 lot residential subdivision and deep excavation for an eight story apartment block.
